Indivisible.org and “What’s the Plan?”
In case you missed this uplifting weekly online event last Thursday, here is the recording.
This is something I look forward to each week, and this week Ezra and Leah revealed the draft of the plan for MASSIVE actions on June 14th, to show the overwhelming PROTEST AGAINST TRUMP’S BIRTHDAY MILITARY PARADE.
I’m watching this youtube channel everyday.
Recommended to me by a good friend and neighbor, and now I highly recommend to you:
good news
I was wearing my “Democracy Defender” hoodie this afternoon, and that sparked some great conversation with my daughter and her friend. Both are mothers of young children who are juggling their hectic lives in the midst of our political turmoil.
Social Security actually was important to them, too.
They are concerned about their elder parents (that would be me, for one) and even the children of our country who receive Social Security because a parent had died. (that would be my grandson)
When we got to talking, I could see that these young moms are “feeling down” by all that is happening. And, when I mentioned how taking actions that help us demand our rights, helps me not feel depressed anymore… they both seemed excited and wanted to know more.
Grandparents
My dear elder friends, it happens when we simply talk with others about all our anxieties. Others who are sitting or standing right next to us in our everyday life.
There are way, way, way more of us everyday, well-meaning, hard-working folks than there are billionaire robber barons.
More and more of us are getting the information out there and inspiring others. The more we educate and learn from each other, the more our power takes hold.
In New York City, at my grandson’s “Grandparent’s Day” today, the 3rd & 4th graders sang the words on the Statue of Liberty, put to song by Irving Berlin.
I guess I’m feeling very patriotic today, even though I have a gazillion criticisms about the history of our country. Still, I’m ready to fight for our democracy. And when it is stabilized, we will work hard to make it the democracy for all that we dream of.
